About Me
Gabriela Dean
Gabriela is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) through the independent certifying organization called the Certification Council For Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT). Trainers who have passed this rigorous certification exam have demonstrated a mastery of humane and science based training methods. When you choose a CPDT-KA trainer, you can be assured that this person has completed over 300 hours of training experience and is required to stay current with the latest in training research and trends through mandatory continuing education units (CEU’s).
Gaby is also a Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA) and American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She is a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild and a Fear Free Certified Professional Animal Trainer with Fear Free LLC. Her certifications prove her unparalleled education on emotional wellbeing, enrichment, and the reduction of fear, anxiety, and stress in pets and improving the experience of every human and pet involved.
Pause for Paws is currently located in Orlando, Florida, but was founded in Miami, Florida in 2020. When she was in high school, she was a part of a program where they learned from Certified Professional Dog Trainers how to train dogs in the Students Providing On-Campus Training Program (SPOT). The goal of this program is to train rescued dogs into being all-around well-mannered pups and help them be ready for adoption for their forever homes, while also teaching students life long lessons about animal behavior and fear free training. After graduation she volunteered as a lead dog trainer for this program to continue giving back to the students.
Gaby is a Florida International University graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship. Through her psychology degree she was able to take animal behavioral courses where she learned more about the ways animals communicate with us and how we can better our relationship with them. Using classical and operant conditioning we can train our dogs to do the behaviors we want to see, when we want to see them.
All dogs have personalities, minds, and feelings, and every day she loves to discover more about them working as a dog trainer. Gaby wants to help clients develop a deep bond with their furry friend, using reward based training you can communicate with your dog and be able to promote good behavior.
